Carers Toolkit

What is the Carers Toolkit?

This Carers Toolkit brings together information, resources and links to help advise Carers on a variety of subjects including:

  1. Support And Advice
  2. Support For Working Carers
  3. Support With Housing Options
  4. Support In An Emergency
  5. Support To Parent Carers
  6. Support To Stay Well
  7. Support For Young Carers

Why use the Carers Toolkit?

We would recommend you to explore the directory sub-categories as you will find helpful bits of information, links to organisations, links to websites and also other useful resources.

The toolkit can assist you in getting the right advice as soon as you start caring or even if you've been caring a while, there are things you can do to look after yourself and get the most out of life and access support you are entitled to.

What you can get out of using the Carers Toolkit?

The Carers Toolkit can support and enable you to find the help and advice you may need.

Whether you've cared for the person for a long time, are temporarily helping them (for example, while they recuperate from an operation), or have just become a carer, take time to review your options and find out what support is available to you through the toolkit.

The Care Act

The Care Act replaces most current law regarding carers and people being cared for. It outlines the way in which local authorities should carry out carer's assessments and needs assessments.

Please see the Carers UK website for further information on the Care Act.
