Children and young people spend a lot of time online – it can be a great way for them to socialise, explore and have fun. But children do also face risks like cyberbullying or seeing content that's inappropriate.
The following NSPCC websites and helplines can offer you support to make sure your children are safe online:
O2 NSPCC Online Safety Helpline - Providing personalised support for parents on privacy settings, new sites, apps and general advice. Call on 0808 800 5002, also available through live chat.
Net Aware - Popular guide to the 50 sites, apps and games used by young people. Net Aware has been awarded the Best Product for Parents at the recent Digital Safety Awards. It’s available as an app or parents can sign up for the newsletter for regular updates.
Guru appointment – Whether an O2 customer or not, you can book an in-store appointment with an O2 Guru to get advice and support on making family devices safe for children.
Advice and guidance – This part to the website has a wide range of information on anything from sexting and cyberbullying to porn and parental controls.
