Maintaining your Home

Maintaining your home is an important part of living independently. Making sure your home is safe, warm and secure helps to keep you well in your home and prevent risks, such as falls.

Family and friends

It might be worth talking to family or close friends about helping you to maintain your home. They may be happy to give you a hand with day-to-day domestic tasks such as cleaning, repairs or DIY.

Manchester Care and Repair

Manchester Care and Repair is the registered Home Improvement Agency for Manchester. They can offer support with DIY, home repairs and handyperson tasks such as changing lightbulbs. They offer advice to Manchester residents over the age of 60. You can visit the Manchester Care and Repair website, or call them on 0161 872 5500

  • doing the laundry

  • gardening

Moving to a more suitable home
