Library Services for Visually Impaired People

All Manchester libraries provide helpful staff, large print books, books on tape and a reservation service to obtain items on tape from other libraries. But VIP Units offer aspecialist range of services that help visually impaired users access information themselves or with the help of the unit's staff. For example, advice on the availability of accessible format items (such as Braille, Large Print etc.), personal reading of printed or written material (such as letters, forms and leaflets), access to specialist equipment and assistive technology.
