St Ann's Hospice (Heald Green)

St Ann’s Hospice aims to improve the quality of life of people living with any life-threatening illnesses in Greater Manchester, whilst supporting their families and carers. Patients are involved with their personal plan of care, which is tailored to meet their needs. Care is available from the point of diagnosis, enabling and encouraging people to achieve the best possible quality of life while providing support to their families and carers. Inpatient Services St Ann's Hospice has two inpatient units (one at Heald Green and on at Little Hulton) with a total of 58 beds. Inpatient Services are for adults over the age of 16 who have a life-limiting illness, who have complex needs and who reqiuire assessment and management by the multi-disciplinary team. Patients can be referred for one or more of the following reasons:

  • Complex symptom control
  • Complex psychological, spiritual and social need
  • Rehabilitation assessment following radiotherapy, chemotherapy, surgery and other palliative care interventions
  • Care of the dying patient with complex needs

Inpatients are able to access a range of services provided by members of the multi-disciplinary team. Carers are also able to access support from staff with specialist training. Bereavement support is also provided in people's own homes, in addition to support on site. Day Therapy Day Therapy Services which include day care, supportive outpatients and medical outpatients, allow patients and carers to receive specialist palliative and supportive care to help them cope with their illness.   • Breathlessness Clinic
  • Complementary Therapies (Aromatherapy, Reflexology, Reiki, Indian Head Massage)
  • Counselling
  • Lymphoedema Management Clinic
  • Consultant Specialist Palliative Medical Clinic
