I am a NVQ Level three registered childminder with over 32 years of experience and was rated as 'Good' in my latest OFSTED inspection (March 2019). I continue to improve my professional development by attending a wide range of courses including Safeguarding, Special needs and disability and first aid. Being registered with Pacey and Manchester Quality Assurance Network ensures I am up to date with the latest policies, procedures and training.
I aim to provide a warm and caring environment and feel that my home setting gives this. I have a playroom dedicated to provide children with a variety of learning experiences. This includes (but is not limited to) a play kitchen, dressing up area, book corner, small world items, musical instruments, sensory play and arts and crafts. I am unafraid of messy play and encourage the development fine motor skills by using play dough, paints and baking. My home has a secure garden where children are able to use a mud kitchen, willow den and water play area. Other free play toys such as trikes, bikes and other age appropriate toys are readily available.
Living in Chorlton allows the children in my care to access a wide variety of outdoor spaces. We often spend time in Chorlton Ees (a local nature reserve) and the many parks that are in the locality (such as Longford Park, Beech Road Park and Chorlton Park). We spend time in Chorlton Libary as well as attending Play Groups (I support the running of Manchester Road playgroup). Chorlton has fantastic public transport links which allows us to visit museums and art galleries which are a little further afield.
I work in close partnership with parents to ensure children reach their full potential inline with the EYFS curriculum. Observations and next steps are logged through 'Babies Days' where parents can access photographs and descriptions of the activities that the children have been doing.
I can provide a range of references if required.
