Whitemoss Club for Young People & Community Centre & North City Nomads

  • We are a Registered Charity 521239 and offer the Community of North Manchester opportunities to meet and make friends with local Families and other partners.
  • We run 2 nights a week (Mondays & Fridays) for children from 7 years to 11 years. Local volunteers who are All DBS checked and encourage Young People to take on a volunteering Role, run the sessions that include , Multi Sports for both boys and girls, Music studio, sensory room, table tennis, pool, allotment and we are very proud of our childrens play area and funded by the Big Lottery we have a Multi Use games Area. Both of these sessions are presently limited to 15 only per the COVID restrictions
  • We are the head quarters for the North City Nomads who are a voluntary group that organises trips out to the seaside resorts and other places of interest mainly for our Age Friendly people from around North Manchester. Presently ALL TRIPS HAVE BEEN CANCELLED Due to the Covid outbreak.
  • We work in partnership with local Businesses via B.I.T.C. and companies such as the Co op . M & S, Spie UK , Northward Housing, NHS, MCC (VCS) and Santdanter Bank all have or are the process of assisting us in volunteering Days and investing with us financially.
  • We are affiliated to the Boys and Girls clubs of Greater Manchester and the G.M.Y.N. 
  • We run a Intermediate Club for Young people from 11-15 years of age 6-8pm  and predominately it's run by local volunteers and supported by a Mix it up Arts project with the B.&G.C.of G.M. partnered with Z/Arts also Activity Community Networtk / Young Manchester and the Police all support this session 
  • Thursdays from 4pm to 5.30pm Boxing sessions run on a voluntary basis by Another Life saved Charity to reduce Knife Crime (This presently is CLOSED due to Covid
  • Every Other Friday we run a Senior citizens Luncheon Club Limited places.11- 2pm (The other Fridays we hold a card making session supported by BUZZ 10.30 am to 12.30pm (Both these sessions are presently CLOSED)

We are mainly a voluntary Youth & Community Centre and self supporting.

We run a Monday & Friday evening for children from 7 years to 11 years on a voluntary basis and All our volunteers are all DBS checked. Please NOTE by invitation ONLY Limited to 15 per session currently dur to Covid.

Through a succesful funding id via the Police we are able to run a Wednesday evening from 6.00pm til 8 pm run by volunteers and this session caters for young

people from 11 years to 15 years. also supported by Z/Arts & the B.&G.C. of G.M. Mix it up Arts Project via the Arts Council.and also supported by Manchester Young Lives.

 Senior Citizens a Lunch at a cost of £4 per head every other Friday , We are working in partnerhip with other groups to obtain funding from the Well Being to be able to offer this service on a weekly basis. the OPENS Project maybe able to assist. But presently these sessions are CLOSED due to Covid.

We are the headquarters for the North City Nomads offering our over 50's the opportunities to visit sesside resorts 4 times a year. £5 registration to join the group. 

Presently for 2020 we have 250 on our Data Base. THESE TRIPS HAVE PRESENTLY BEEN CANCELLED DUE TO COVID

We are fortunately to have the Co op who have designed a 3 year Business Plan and support us in other ways and are also supported by B.I.T.C. in volunteering Days at the centre.
