Odd Arts - Arts Workshops and Performances
Our regular drop-in workshops are delivered at Millenium Powerhouse in Moss Side on Monday evenings, 4.45 to 7.45pm. The first 45 minutes is dedicated to children aged 9 to 13 and is entitled 'Drama Drop' - this entails games and arts activities to get everyone out of their comfort zone! 'The Platform' then runs from 5.45pm to 7.45pm, where young people aged 14 to 19 can explore social action ideas and work on their own artistic development.
We also deliver a wide range of one-off workshops which aim to raise awareness of issues most relevant to the partners we are working with. These workshops are often delivered in schools, colleges or as part of education training and staff development, using theatre as well as various other artistic mediums.
Usually lasting between one to two hours, our popular theatre-based workshops include:
- Isolation to Radicalisation (focusing on radicalisation and hate crime, for Year 7+)
- Blame and Belonging (focusing on radicalisation and hate crime, for Year 9+)
- A Spiralling (Covid) Mind (mental health workshop with specific focus on self-harm, anxiety and eating disorders, for Year 7+))
- Just One Favour (exploring child criminal exploitation and county lines)
- Grey Area (focusing on consent and sexual assault, appropriate for 18+)
- Egg, Chips and Beans (knife crime workshop, for Year 7+)
Workshops are usually delivered in client's school or desired venue.
