Southway Housing Trust - Age Friendly Housing (over 55s)

Southway Housing Trust has two sheltered housing schemes, Grove Lane, Didsbury, and Holland Court, Chorlton. The schemes consist of 1 and 2 bed flats on ground, 1st, and 2nd floors (at Holland Court where a lift is provided). We have recently opened two new With Care schemes, Gorton Mill House, Gorton and Dahlia House, Burnage. Both with low carbon, age friendly one- and two-bedroom apartments for social rent for people aged 55 and over. With Care housing is exclusively for people aged 55 or over and there is a care provider on site 24/7. The schemes have a cafe, and at Gorton Mill House a salon, open to everyone in the local area. In addition, there is a shared lounge or activity room solely for the use of residents and a mix of one- and two-bedroom properties. Both have substantial communal gardens that can be enjoyed by residents and their family.

All schemes benefit from an on-site staff at set times in the week and each flat has an emergency pull cord (Community Alarm) which is linked to an off-site monitoring station that will provide reassurance, arrange for a next of kin and or emergency services to attend if required.

Social events and activities are arranged by tenants and Southway staff throughout the week in the communal lounges and gardens.
