Music Café for People with Dementia (Manchester Camerata)

Music Cafe in Gorton Monastery Image

Our Music Cafés are for people living with dementia and for family carers. We make music, have fun together, meet new friends and learn how music can help you reconnect to your loved ones.

They're run by our professional, specially-trained musicians and music therapists at the orchestra's base in Gorton Monastery.

Other notes

See below for all the great press our Music Café received last time around!

Guardian reporter Helen Pidd wrote on her own Twitter account that the Music Café ‘…was the most moving thing I’ve had the privilege of reporting on in quite a few years. Bravo to Manchester Camerata’. Read the full article here.

This article follows press from both ITV and BBC News. Ann O’Connor from ITV described the Café as ‘Simple, effective and often magical‘, and the BBC put a lovely segment together which you can check here!
