Wythenshawe Park - Community Farm (Activity Days for Disabled Children and their Families)

Community Farm

Wythenshawe Community Farm is a registered charity and was established in 1984. This town community farm can be visited as one of the many facilities within Wythenshawe Park.

The Farm offers an exciting opportunity for children to learn about where food comes from and witness the hustle and bustle and all the elements of a working countryside farm within an urban setting.

An array of farm animals including cows, sheep, goats, pigs ducks and horses can be seen, as can a prize-winning herd of Hereford cattle. The farm has an extensive breeding programme which means at varying times of the year young animals can be seen.

A walled garden at the back of the farm has extra livestock in pens.

Historically fruit and vegetables were grown in the garden to supply the Tatton family at the hall.

In addition to visiting Wythenshawe Community Farm, you can become further involved by sponsoring an animal at the farm. For details please ask at the farm office or call 0161 946 0726.
