DISC (Digital Independent Specialist College)
The Digital Independent Specialist College (DISC) is based in central Manchester and offers a Digital Supported Internship for 16 to 24 year olds with an Education Health & Care Plan (EHCP). No formal academic qualifications are required to apply.
DISC supports young people with Autism/ADHS who are interested in digital and creative technology. The internship will prepare the young person for adulthood and employment in the digital economy. By developing and enhancing skills in graphic design, photography, website building, film making, blogs, branding and marketing. Maths and English tutoring are offered if the intern has not already obtained a foundation level or GCSE in the subject. Our classroom sizes are small and the staff are skilled professionals who also provide excellent pastoral care and mentoring. A Job Coach is also available to assist the intern into either work, self-employment or further study. Course length is from September to June.
