Get hands on in Experiment, a free family friendly interactive gallery. Roll up your sleeves and have a go at lifting a real Mini car up a wall using a simple gear system or watch bubbles rising through giant columns of coloured liquid.

By car: The museum does not have parking facilities on site. There are limited council-run pay and display on-street parking spaces on Liverpool Road and Lower Byrom Street.
There is also a selection of private and council-run open air and multi-storey car parks in the local area.
By train:The nearest railway station is Deansgate.
By metrolink: The nearest tram stop is Deansgate-Castlefield
Free city centre bus: The museum can be reached by the city centre free bus service. You can use either Route 1 (closest stop: Opera House) and Route 2 (closest peak time stop: Opera House; closest off peak stop: Deansgate, near junction with Quay Street).

All our galleries are suitable for visitors with disabilities, and we also offer a range of services and aids to make your visit as comfortable as possible.
