Manchester Youth Council

Manchester Youth Council (MYC) are a group of young people who champion youth voice and participation. All current members are aged 11-18 years old
MYC meetings and Debate Clubs are run by young people to enable them to challenge the democratic process and campaign for young people. ( All meetings currently take plce on ZOOM)
MYC work with Manchester City Council elected members, heads of service and services within Manchester City Council to ensure the views of young people are listend to and acted upon.
MYC co produce workshops and training and deliver events to young people and staff to enable them to have a say about services and opportunities to make Manchester the best city to grow up in, get an education, play, live and work in.
All young people who join Manchester Youth Council have opportunities to develop their skills for life and record achievement on the Kloodle App. All hours with the MYC can be counted for voluteer hours for D of E and other awards
Young people who join Manchester Youth Council will have opportunities to represent Manchester youth voice at local, regional and national levels.

Once lock down has lifted Meetings will take place in Manchester Central Library and at local venues across Manchester
Young People and carers need to make their own travel arrangements to and from meetings
Light refreshments are free and available at meetings

Manchester Youth Council (MYC) is a diverse and inclusive group of young people from all areas of Manchester . MYC is open to all young people who live or go to school, or college in Manchester.
We welcome all young people who would like to represent any of the following areas or interests: LGBTQ+, young carers, cared experienced young people, home schooled, faith groups, who may have additional support or sensory needs, youth groups, schools, supplementary education, uniformed organisations, faith, cultural, organisations
