Down's Syndrome: South Manchester Down's Syndrome Support Group (SMDSSG)

The South Manchester Down's Syndrome Support Group is for familes of children and young people who have Down's syndrome. We meet regularly and are open to anyone who wants to come along.
Sharing Ideas
Many of us have found that meeting with other parents/carers can be supportive and is a good way of sharing information and ideas.
Our Chatterbox Club
One Saturday a month, we run a Chatterbox club that provides speech and language sessions, sing and sign classes and craft activities, plus a chance for coffee and a chat.  These clubs give parents the opportunity to meet with and learn from speech therapists on a regular basis, as well as offering the environment for whole families to socialise. This means that our children and their siblings have a chance to make friendship with their peers.

Our Preschool Group

  • All children welcome aged from birth to 4 (Including  siblings)

  • Drop in or stay the whole time. Have a drink, biscuit and chat with other parents/carers, grandparents.

  • Come and tell us what you’d like to be on offer at these groups.
