Ethnic Minority Groups (Wai Yin Society)

Wai Yin is committed to serving the wider community and to extending its reach to other ethnic minority groups. We developed partnerships with a number of ethnic minority women’s groups, including the Somali Women’s Forum, the Eritrean Women Society, Women of the Far East (Sudanese) and the Libyan Welfare Association. Our specially trained workers and volunteers provide a luncheon club, exercise classes and social activities and excursions for older Somali women. We are proud to have supported Europia, a growing charity which focuses on the needs of European economic migrants in the UK. Currently, we are working in partnership to support BME women in the Maya project.

Our Welcome Centre, Cheetham Hill, is a drop in centre for peoples from all over the world wishing to make a home in Manchester.
