Healthwatch Manchester
Healthwatch Manchester ensures the public voice is heard by those who commission, design and deliver health and social care services. We aim to make them better, now and in the future.
Working with relevant bodies like the Care Quality Commission (CQC), we can take action to investigate or undertake a review of services using authoritative, evidence-based feedback instigated by concerns that are bought to our attention. We also have a seat on Manchester’s Health and Wellbeing Board, where we work to ensure the views and experiences of service users are at the heart of decision making.
Healthwatch Manchester works hard to represent your views, but we need your help to do that. You can help by:
- Sharing Your Story of health and social care experiences,
- give feedback/review a service you’ve used in Manchester,
- take part in one of our surveys or
- Get Involved as a volunteer or member of Healthwatch Manchester.
Much of the work that we do results in a report on the project and topic covered. Most reports make recommendations for change. The projects we undertake are in line with our core work priorities. The Healthwatch Manchester Board select several core topics to focus on each year and those choices are dictated by the feedback we receive from service users and Healthwatch Manchester members. It really does make a difference when you get involved and tell us what’s important to you.
Signposting
As well as our strategic and research work, Healthwatch Manchester operates a signposting service. We have a directory of local services, you can search by service type or post code. Each service on the directory has contact and location details and users can leave a review or rating based on their experience there. If you can’t find what you need on the webpage you can get in contact us directly and we’ll do our best to help.
