Young Carers Support at Levenshulme High School
We are a young carer friendly school.
We are looking to set up a young carers group
We will offer EHA (Early Help Assessments) and use the MACA and PANOC - these are tools to aid assessment and measure the level of caring activity a young person my undertake.
We will work with our early help hubs to ensure support for young carers and their families
We will link our young carers to activities and services they want to be involved in
We will hold whole school assembly raising awareness of young carers, we will support young carer awareness days.
We will be promoting information about and for young carers on our young persons information boards
We will invite professionals into school to support our young carers on issues and topics important to them.
We will work with our feeder schools to ensure a good package of support for our young carers.
We will work together with our partners in schools and social care services, our parents, carers and children.
We will send letters home to parents to let them know about the support available at school.
Our young carers can access our groups including home work support, afterschool activities and will be able to participate in our partner groups such as Princes Trust
Young carers can access all in school groups and clubs
We will work towards gaining a young carer in school award
