Ashton Sixth Form College has been providing quality education to school leavers for many years and continues to grow and develop to meet the demands of local people.  We have been rated 'outstanding' by Ofsted; January, 2020.

The College is a major provider of the highest quality academic and vocational education in the area. We currently have over 2000 students on a range of courses including A levels, mixed study and vocational programmes at advanced level.

The College also has adult students on courses from Level 1 to Higher Education. Courses for adults are run on site during the day or in the evenings or at community venues and at employer premises.

Our college community includes over 200 dedicated staff who are focused on ensuring that all our students have every opportunity to learn, enjoy and achieve at college and ultimately progress successfully to higher education, employment or training.

Ashton Sixth Form College is situated on a single site, close to the centre of Ashton under Lyne. There are 7 buildings on the site: The Main Building housing most of the A Level classrooms; the Science and Technology Building; the ICT Building; the Sports Hall; the Art and Design Building; the Centenary Building housing A Level Psychology, Creative and Digital Arts and Performing Arts; and the Geoff Higgins Building housing Health and Social Care, Childcare, the Library and Inclusive Learning; and the HE block. All areas of college are fully accessible.

Our college is predominantly aimed at young people, aged 16 - 19 years, looking for full time A Levels; Level 3 Vocational courses; or a mixed study programme. We are also aimed at adult students looking for part time courses in a range of subjects from Level 1 up to post-graduate level. We support students who have a wide range of learning differences and disabilities including: mobility problems, visual and hearing impairment, dyslexia, dyspraxia, autistic spectrum condition; as well as mental health difficulties. Full details of our courses are available on the college website. 16 - 19 year old students can apply for full time courses online between September and December each year. Adult students can apply at our HE and Skills Information Evenings which take place at various times throughout the year, details of which are publicised on the college website.
