Seashell Swim (Days Out and Activities for Disabled Children and their Families)
This information has been put together by two parents of disabled children with the intention of giving other parent carers some ideas for trips out around the Greater Manchester area.
A fully inclusive community swimming scheme is held at the Seashell Trust’s purpose-built, warm pool in Cheadle Hulme. The pool is based within the Seashell Trust specialist school and is only open to the public for the swimming lessons. Lessons are fully accessible and open to people of all ages (babies to adult) and abilities and the swimming teachers are experienced and fully trained in working with children with a wide range of disabilities. The pool is fully accessible with both a tracking hoist and chair hoist available and full disability changing facilities with changing beds.
Lessons are either in groups or on a one-to-one basis and all take place either in the warm pool or in the hydrotherapy pool. For more information contact the CADS Swimming Development Officer on 0161 610 0159
