Seashell Swim (days out and activities for disabled children and their families)

Seashell Trust Logo

A fully inclusive community swimming scheme is held at the Seashell Trust’s purpose-built, warm pool in Cheadle Hulme. The pool is based within the Seashell Trust specialist school and is only open to the public for the swimming lessons. Lessons are fully accessible and open to people of all ages (babies to adult) and abilities. The swimming teachers are experienced and fully trained in working with children with a wide range of disabilities. The pool is fully accessible with a tracking hoist, a chair hoist and full disability changing facilities with changing beds.

Lessons are either in groups or on a one-to-one basis and all take place either in the warm pool or in the hydrotherapy pool. For more information contact the CADS Swimming Development Officer on 0161 610 0159.

Lessons take place every day during term time except Sundays. Booking is essential. Prices for group lessons are £6.50 half hour lesson and the one-to-one lessons are £10.50 half hour lessons.

The warmer pool is ideal for children who are put off swimming due to sensitivity to cold. The hydrotherapy pool is used for lessons for beginners. Parent and baby sessions are available.
