WISH (Women in Secure Hospitals)
Offers information, advice and support to women referred to the psychiatric system, and in particular to high security hospitals and regional secure units. WISH activities include the following:
- Regular visits by WISH project workers
- Encouragement to enable women to voice their own concerns and needs
- Provision of continuity of support when patients move through the secure psychiatric system and ultimately are discharged into the community
- Collaborating with professionals to improve quality of day-to-day lives of women
- Involvement in policy information in relation to women patients/development of provision for women
