Carrin Angela Wibier

I am a childminder from central Manchester, I have three children aged 11,12 and 15. I have a degree in Primary Education and over ten years of teaching experience working with children of all ages throughout the Early Years Foundation Stage - Nursery and Reception, KS1 and KS2. When my children were younger I encountered several problems with childcare, although frustrating at the time it has prompted my career change, as there are many other parents facing similar difficult circumstances. Whilst preparing to become a childminder I have worked in an outstanding private day nursery and a nursery that requires improvement, which has allowed me to gain further practical experience, participate in good practice and deliver the seven areas of learning to my key children within a timescale; and has also shown me what not to do. I have a “good” Ofsted grade with outstanding qualities.

As a childminder I provide a safe, stimulating, learning environment. I set activities and tasks to promote learning indoor and outdoor and also encourage child initiated freeplay/role play. The children in my care have access to educational resources and toys which help prepare for school readiness. Opportunities for physical activity, promotion of fine motor skills and dexterity will be given throughout the day whilst children are in my care.
