FitzRoy Trafford
FitzRoy Trafford Day and Community Services
As part of a well-established national charity we have been providing support and inspiration to people with learning disabilities, physical disabilities and sensory impairments in south Manchester since 1996. We work every day to transform lives for people with disabilities who are aged 18 and over.
Our hub in South Manchester
Our resource base in Sale is a hive of creativity and inspiration. We have a beautiful, bright and modern space, set over two floors with fantastic accessibility, including a lift. The big art room, well-equipped computer suite, fantastic sensory room, large fully fitted kitchen, and social areas, are all proving very popular.
Our activities
We provide all kinds of social, educational and leisure activities for people with disabilities to get involved in - art groups, IT and computer sessions, cookery skills classes, communication groups, music, photography, day trips out, museum visits, swimming, shopping trips, gym sessions, pub visits, cinema, cafe trips....there's so much going on.
We support people to get to other community events like art and drama classes or to sports events taking place in Manchester.
We assist some of the people who use our service to volunteer at other charities (supported volunteering) so that they can share their existing skills and learn some new ones.
And we run a weekly evening social group on Monday nights - this is an informal drop-in session with a different theme each week: games nights, film nights, meals out....
We can also provide travel training to support people to learn how to use buses and trams independently.
Our promise
- Experienced and fully trained staff will help you reach your goals, be as physically active as possible and increase your independence.
- As well as all the activities we offer at our resource base, we will support you to go out and about and take part in your local community.
- A flexible service – if it suits you better, we can come to your home and support you to go out from there.
Please get in touch to find out more - we’d love to meet you, show you around and answer all your questions.
FitzRoy also provides Supported Living and Registered Care services in Trafford and in Stockport.
