Young Carers Support at Baguley Hall Primary School

Baguley Hall is a young carer friendly primary school.
We are a UNICEF Gold rights respecting school and are dedicated to ensuring that young carers have their rights met. We are an accredited Peace Mala school and celebrate our differences.
We offer practical support to our young carers including a walking bus, social breakfast, dedicated lunch club, assistance with uniform, shoes and coats; we can also offer supported places at our breakfast and after school clubs. We can offer therapeutic play therapy and have a School Nurse who visits each week and can provide support.
We are committed to listening to the voice of our pupils and have a School Council, Eco Council and curriculum champions. Pupil well-being is also a key focus for us and we have children who share strategies and good practice to promote mental well-being.
Our Children and Families Team are available to support young carers and their families either directly, or by helping them to access local services. We offer Early Help Assessments and work closely with the Early Help Hubs to ensure families receive the support they need.
We will support our young carers through transition and link with high school young carer champions.
