Space - The Multi-sensory Centre (Days Out and Activities for Disabled Children and Families)

SPACE is the largest multi-sensory environment in the UK for anyone with special needs. The two level room with padded floors and walls is packed with amazing multi-sensory features including ball pools, accessible swing, heated water bed, fibre optic hut, UV light, tactile walls, wind machine, theatre lighting, surround sound, projectors, sensory props, soft stairs and a large soft slide. It is fully accessible for all ages and disabilities.

The centre can be booked for your group’s exclusive use or you can join in the Family sessions at weekends. All sessions must be booked in advance – contact SPACE for booking details.

Picnic area No. Food must not be eaten in the play centre however there is a park across the road with picnic tables

Opening times
10am-9pm Weekdays; 9am to 8pm at weekends. Closed Bank Holidays

Admission Prices can vary depending on how many people are accessing the room. The room is booked in one hour blocks and it may be booked for just one person and their carer(s) (£35 per hour) or by groups of up to 20 people maximum (including carers) (£40 per hour for the group)

Family sessions
! Take place every Sunday from 2.30pm-3.30pm;  every 1st and 3rd Saturday of the month from 11.30am-12.30pm                         Admission £3 per child and £1 per carer.

You control the multi-sensory equipment through use of specialised switches
Special cameras allow visitors to watch themselves through projection
