Chorlton & Didsbury Foodbank (A Trussell Trust Network Foodbank)

Chorlton & Didsbury Foodbank provides emergency food parcels for people living in the Chorlton and Didsbury area, people are referred to the foodbank for various reasons including redundancy, benefit changes or delay or even an unexpected bill, it can even be families struggling to put food on the table during school holidays, or to ease a financial burden.

During Covid Restrictions, for the safety of clients, referrers and our staff and volunteers we are operating an electronic referal system, with deliveries to clients, or for referrers to collect.

If you are not already a referral agency for a Trussel Trust Network foodbank, please do get in touch with us.

With the Covid Restrictions in place, we are operating deliveries on Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday Afternoons, for electronic referals recieved upto the night before.

 

When Covid Restrictions are lifted, and once agreements are in place with Volunteers and our host sites we hope to be operating our foodbank outlets at the following sites:

Chorlton Central Church is situated at the Corner of Barlow Moor Road and Zetland Road / Sandy Lane, Chorlton, M21 8BF.

Christ Church Hall is situated behind the church, driveway access from Darley Ave and small gate on Princess Road, M20 2ZD.

St Barnabas is on the corner of Hurstville Road and Hardy Lane, Chorlton M21 8DH.

You will need a voucher to access the food bank, our referrers include Chorlton Job Centre, Southway Housing Trust, Moss Care Housing, Barlow Moor Community Centre, local schools and Sure Start Centres, Citizens Advice Manchester, most other housing associations in Chorlton and Didsbury Area, Councillors and MP.  These are now generated electronically by the referrer and relevant details are automatically sent to us.

During Covid restrictions, we check for this information the evening before our sessions and when the food parcels area ready wee then call the client to ensure somebody will be in when we deliver.
