Belong Morris Feinmann
Our vibrant community village in South Manchester boasts state-of-the-art facilities and high quality nursing and dementia care. Since opening, it has attracted attention as an award-winning facility and is rated 'Good' by the Care Quality Commission who found it to be notably caring, well led, responsive and effective, as well as being safe and consistently compliant with best practice guidelines.
Located in the heart of West Didsbury, the village centre provides a vibrant hub for community events, with facilities including an exercise studio, hair salon, bistro, therapy room, function rooms, library and gardens, including a roof garden.
The complex includes independent living apartments and specialist households providing 24-hour nursing and dementia care. With a maximum of 12 residents per household, these provide a family atmosphere where customers can build lasting relationships with staff and other residents.
Built on the site of the former Morris Feinmann Home, we work closely with the Feinmann Trust to enable customers to observe a Jewish religious and cultural way of life, celebrating Jewish festivals and weekly Shabbat traditions. We are a kosher building and the village centre includes a synagogue, where regular services are held. Of course, we also welcome people of other faiths or no faith and our customers live side by side, within an inclusive, integrated community.

The Belong village was designed to offer the most supportive environment possible for people experiencing dementia. All our staff have been trained to recognise and deal sensitively with the wishes of the person with dementia, from the nursing staff within each household to the catering staff in every bistro, ensuring that all residents can participate in the warmth and support of our community, however complex their needs may become.
We also offer a free Admiral Nurse service, which provides specialist dementia support and advice to residents who have been medically diagnosed with any form of dementia, as well as their family members and carers.
Belong draws on 20 years of experience in supporting people with dementia, and the physical environment of our village model and, in particular, the open-plan household design aim to maximise independence and orientation, and reduce dependence on memory. Below are the cornerstones of our approach.
