WMB Winstanley Day Nursery aims to skillfully and wisely craft a solid Early Years foundation for your child with ‘C.A.R.E*’ by providing them with a caring, nurturing, stimulating and example-led environment thereby enhancing their moral, physical, social and spiritual values making them exemplary leaders of tomorrow. Our C.A.R.E acronym stands for Credibility, Accountability, Relationship, & Exemplary Leadership. WMB Winstanley have a reputation that is second to none within the local community.
WMB Winstanley Day Nursery premises is registered by OFSTED to accommodate 90 children between the ages of 6 weeks and 5 years old in our 3 base rooms. This is excluding the dining area and our community/training room. Our 3 base rooms within the nursery are Baby room, Toddler room and the Preschool room. Your child’s placement in any of our rooms will be dependent on their age and development. We have a wide variety of excellent resources and we constantly update them to help our children develop to the best of their abilities and beyond. The nursery staff continuously provide well planned, inspirational and adventurous activities daily.
All our room have direct access to a large enclosed outside play area where children can explore and develop outside the room. The staff encourage children to be outdoors whatever the weather- rain, sunshine or snow.
The nursery opens Monday to Friday 7:30 am - 6:00pm, all year round, with the exception of bank holidays and Christmas holiday periods. We currently support children with Special Educational Need (SEN) and also supports a number of children who have English as an additional language.
We know how important it is that the transition from home to nursery be a smooth one, especially for new parents. We make every effort to ensure that parents feel that the setting is for them and their children and this is no exception to the baby room.
With a maximum of 12 children in this room at any one time, our baby room ensures that all babies receive lots of individual attention from our experienced, professional and dedicated staff. The room is highly stimulating filled with soft cushions, feeding chairs, cots, natural displays and more. The staff have great knowledge of the EYFS and nursery policies and procedures to ensure that the babies are receiving the best possible care. They have friendly personalities in order to create great relationships with children parents and careers. They are confident and enthusiastic in carrying out activities and are always welcome to new ideas.
Supported by a very passionate room leader, the toddler room nursery nurses possess a combined wealth of qualifications and experience. All team members have worked in many different childcare settings previously, helping them to be able to share their own experiences, ideas and knowledge they have gained on to other team members, improving their own practice and driving forward the success of the room and nursery as a whole.
The Toddler room offers a large space for the children to explore both inside and out. They have constant access to outside; they have the door open all day so the children have a choice whether they want to be outside or inside and the nursery nurses constantly supervise both areas. Self-serving is encouraged during every meal time to encourage hand-eye co-ordination as well as independence. The toddler room offers many messy and creative activities from gloop and paint to water and sand activities.
Our pre-school room is a large room that is led by child interest. All activities here are fun and keep young minds interested whilst the children focus on independence and getting ready for ‘big school’. The days are more structured to mirror the structured day in schools and there are lots of sensory areas and as well as a variety of interesting and creative activities. The children can use the outside play area every day to explore and participate in activities such as the mud kitchen, painting and an obstacle course.
The pre-school team have a range of qualifications and experience and bring some excellent qualities to the team. Having worked in nurseries before, all team members are confident liaising with parents and working with their key children to ensure child progression against the EYFS. The team have ample experience in setting fun and stimulating activities and the room leader ensures that all activities are suitable and relevant to the child’s development and getting ready for primary school. Our Pre-school room is also used as our base for the afterschool club children as well as out outdoor space.
