Young Minds

The Department of Education is providing up to £3M for a two year sector led programme which will build the capacity of voluntary and community sector organisations (VCSOs) to deliver early intervention mental health support to children and young people, including building resilience and emotional wellbeing. The programme will also support and sustain VCSO engagement with the system in the longer term, along with expanding choice and provision within the sector.

The BOND Consortium, led by Young Minds, is focusing on building the capacity of the Voluntary and Community Sector to provide early intervention mental health support for children and young people.

The Consortium is made up of a group of organisations and individual experts; Youth Access, Place2Be, Mental Health Foundation, the EBPU (Evidence Based Practice Unit), FPM, Cernis and CAMHS commissioning experts Lisa Williams and Dawn Rees.

The consortia will deliver a broad range of benefits including; extensive mapping and dissemination of learning and innovative practice, the development and testing of a broad suite of training and a range of more targeted support will also be offered to organisations delivering to the most vulnerable children and young people, helping them to become commissioning-ready through training, coaching, online forums and links to specialist websites.
