Multiple Sclerosis Society
The MS Society is the largest organisation in the UK representing and working for those affected by MS. The MS Society publishes a range of award-winning information titles on living with MS. All can be downloaded freely from the Society’s website. It also funds a range of research into the causes of and potential cures for MS, and into quality of life issues for those with the condition. The Society also has a network of 340 local branches which are run entirely by volunteers and which offer local information and support to people affected by MS. It also offers grants for home adaptations and mobility aids. It also runs four respite care homes with over 90 beds available. These are open all year round for people with MS. They offer a high degree of care for guests more severely affected with MS. All homes have trained care and nursing staff to support and assist guests as required. Each home has been adapted for disabled guests and has a lift, hoists and other equipment as necessary.
