Barlow Moor Community Centre
Barlow Moor Community Centre opened in March 1991 after two local residents campaigned heavily for a Community Centre on the Merseybank Estate in Chorlton.
The Centre became an instant hit, with well established Playgroup and Over-60's Groups moving in from a local Church Hall. Soon afterwards, South Manchester Credit Union and Manchester Youth Service also began using the centre to promote their services.
From those humble beginnings, Barlow Moor Community Centre is now at the beating heart of Merseybank. We have a team of 17 staff, most of which are local people who live on the estate. The centre is very busy and operates at full capacity most times.
