Manchester Aquatics Centre
The centre is now closed for refurbishment until Spring 2023 however limited public swimming will remain during this time.
Manchester Aquatics Centre is the purpose-built, state-of-the-art swimming facility, situated in the centre of Manchester (close to the Universities), that stands as a fantastic legacy to the success of the Commonwealth Games 2002. It is the only complex in the UK with two 50-metre pools as well as separate diving and leisure pools. The pool can be split to offer 25m and 23m swimming.
The centre is used as a venue for world-class swimming events and galas and the training facility of the successful regional British Paralympics Swimming Squad, whilst also offering a variety of mixed leisure activities for the local community including a fitness suite with over 70 pieces of equipment, Free Swimming for 16 & under and Over 60's, swimming sessions, Swimlife swimming lessons, health suite and a variety of fitness classes.
