Levenshulme Inspire

Inspired People (IP) work to meet the needs of older people, aged 50+ in Levenshulme and south Gorton. IP aims to transform the lives of older people living in these areas by bringing them together to become busy, resilient, secure and in control of their lives. IP deliver a friendly, fair and safe service in which volunteers and paid staff support older people, providing activities, social contact, advice and information at Levenshulme Inspire and at activities and events at other local centres. The project aims to improve older people’s wellbeing by providing trusted sources of information to enable older people to feel confident in making decisions about their health, finances, care and life choices. IP aims to give older people the tools, confidence and a framework to make their voices heard on service delivery and their local environment by suggesting improvement points to public services and physical surroundings to create a lasting legacy of an age-friendly neighbourhood. IP will enable joined up thinking on older people across service providers in Levenshulme and south Gorton, and enable more partnership working. IP will support both the needs of volunteers and older people involved with IP activity by providing volunteers with appropriate resources and support.
