Olivia Lodge is a supported housing project for young women aged between 16-25, who are pregnant or have children under the age of five. Olivia Lodge aims to empower our residents and teach them the necessary skills to achive their goals .  Olivia Lodge does not teach parenting skills.

Notes

Olivia Lodge is purpose built accommodation, consisting of twelve self-contained flats, comprising of lounge, kitchen, bathroom and bedroom. All accommodation is furnished to a high standard, including , soft furnishings, bed, bedroom furniture  and white goods provided. Other facilities on scheme include: shared TV lounge, garden and outdoor play area and residents’ pay phone. Olivia Lodge is situated in the area of Clayton close to local shops and amenities and approximately a mile and a half from Manchester town centre. Residents are offered a licence agreement in the flats at Olivia Lodge.

There are a number of ways you can apply for a flat at Olivia Lodge. You can be reffered through the Young Persons Pathway, be reffered by an agency working with you or you can self refer. Please contact us and we will send a form to you.

Other notes

Staff are available 24-hours a day to provide advice and support on a wide range of housing related support issues. Each resident will be allocated a Housing and Wellbeing Offcier who will complete and co-ordinate a tailored wellbeing plan with the resident, identifying strengths , areas of support and supporting the resident to achieve their long and short-term goals. We aim to equip residents with the skills to be able to manage their own tenancy when they leave. 

Meeting Individual Support Needs 

Support will depend on the requirements of the individual and will be identified by the resident through their wellbeing planand working with their wellbeing officer, but could include: 

  • Advice and support on a wide range of issues relating to obtaining and sustaining the residents’ own permanent accommodation
  • Resettlement advice and support
  • Budgeting/debt management
  • Leisure and hobbies
  • Overcoming isolation
  • Education, training and employment
  • Housing management
  • Independent living skills
  • Advice on welfare benefits and housing benefit
  • Health issues
  • Referrals and signposting to other agencies where appropriate
  •  Group work and confidence building.

Olivia Lodge also works closely with other agencies, as appropriate, to ensure a multi agency approach to a residents support.

Child Related Support

Olivia Lodge works very closely with other agencies and Children’s Services to ensure residents access appropriate parenting support and to ensure children at the scheme are safeguarded. Olivia Lodge signposts residents to agencies that can provide parenting support and advice as appropriate and also invites other agencies to run group sessions for residents offering parenting advice and support. Olivia Lodge staff are unable to offer parenting advice to residents and are unable to monitor or assess a resident’s parenting of their child.
