Action for Conservation. Environmental Activities for Young People

Action for Conservation, a youth environmental education charity, works with young people across the North West offering opportunities to gain experience and take action for the local. environment. Through our various projects, we allow young people to build knowledge around environmental issues, connect to nature and then take action for their local environment in whatever way they decide to.
We endeavour to make our programmes as accessible as possible. We recognise that the young people we work with have various needs and aim to remove barriers to accessing our programmes and being able to take environmental action. We will listen to the individual needs of the young people, and work with them to address any issues to allow them to feel comfortable and able to be fully involved in our programmes. We are young/adult carers aware.
Our main programme is called WildED where we work at the location of schools or youth groups and is completely free to access. These workshops involve:
- 3 two-hour inspiring workshops run by our team building environmental knowledge, project management and teamwork skills
- Young people groups apply their learning by taking action on issues they care about, supported by our team
- Young people show us what they have achieved during their projects and what impact their actions have had
"All our young people were thoroughly engaged by the stimulating material, style of delivery and fascinating tales. As a result, a number of them are hoping to secure work experience placements in conservation or to pursue work in this important area" - Mrs Ryschnovsky, Beaminster School, Dorset
Please just get in touch if a group you are involved in would like to take part in our completely free programmes, we can have a conversation about adapting our programme to suit the needs of the groups we work with.
