North Manchester Black Health Forum is a user led registered charity (No 1024631) registered in 1993 that works with vulnerable adults, women and families from marginalised communities living with long-term health conditions, poverty & economic pressures. 80% of our participants are from Black, Asian & Minorties Ethnic communities.
Charity offers well-being activities/support that improves health & well being, reducing isolation & loneliness, encourages resilience & healthy living for people of our community.
The activities and services are delivered by people from same background and speak main community languages. 100% Trustees, staff and volunteers are local people
Increases local people's capacity, confidence, skills to support their own communities to live active & independent life, Creating social networks that expand outside of charities activities to reduce social exclusion & inequalities through its opening doors project.
Offers volunteering opportunities to local people with focus on 50+ who make positive contribution to their communities as well as developing & increasing skills & confidence enhancing chances of employability and further education.
Offers information & sign posting to local people with social care, housing & welfare benefits enquiries.
